The rough schedule has just been released from the Waka people. It's definitely different from years past. There is only 1 LOTUS date. I wonder if the boys are going to play a show in Lawrence at the bottleneck at somepoint or are just going to chill at the fest and in Lawrence through the weekend? I bet they'll be there for the MMW set .
Also, they are listed on SAT (the BIG day) and are high on the Sat list. Does this mean a main stage set?
Lastly, I look forward to Asylum Street Spankers! I can't wait!
Thursday, June 7th The North Mississippi Allstars, Perpetual Groove, Pnuma Trio, New Mastersounds, Outformation, Motet, RAQ, Dubconscious, Delta Nove, Kan’Nal, U-Melt, Toubab Krewe, Earl Greyhound, Crooked Still, The Spam All-Stars and Shannon McNally
Friday, June 8th Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Yonder Mountain String Band, Galactic, Ozomatli, The North Mississippi Allstars, Orzic Tentacles, Railroad Earth, JJ Grey and MOFRO, Tea Leaf Green, Perpetual Groove, New Mastersounds, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, RAQ, ALO, Earl Greyhound, U-Melt, SeepeopleS, Delta Nove, Grant Lee Phillips, Bobby Bare Jr., Toubab Krewe, Backyard Tire Fire, Crooked Still and Shannon McNally
Saturday, June 9th Widespread Panic (Extended Set!), Yonder Mountain String Band, Son Volt, Orzic Tentacles, John Butler Trio, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Lotus, Indigenous, Everyone Orchestra, Assembly of Dust, Bassnectar, Alejandro Escovedo, Tea Leaf Green, ALO, Railroad Earth, the Slip, New Monsoon, Back Yard Tire Fire, the Bridge, Honkytonk Homeslice and Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band
Sunday, June 10th Les Claypool, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Sam Bush, The Greencards, Citizen Cope, Martin Sexton, New Monsoon, Honkytonk Homeslice, Little Feat, Indigenous, the Slip, The Lee Boys, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Assembly of Dust, The Be Good Tanyas, The Wood Brothers, Asylum Street Spankers, The Waybacks and Jesus Christ Superstar
The 2007 Stage Schedule will be available in mid-May.
Artist performance days are subject to change, without notice. |

Wait wait wait... what? What exactly is an upgraded site? I just haven't done my reading. Well I'll be getting tickets and more than likely be coming with some good close friends of mine. Either way, what I'm really interested in is a) maybe a second lotus set and b) when is Boombox playing??? I'm telling everyone right now, don't miss Russ and Zion. I absolutely can't wait. Gas is going to suck. I want an economy van.
WAKE UP AND RAGE!#!#~~ |

PA,
Uppgraded camping is camping at one of Clinton Lake's campsites versus camping out in the field. Both types of camping have to have the 4day pass which is the regular ticket most people purchase, but for a little extra $ you get a groomed campsite with access to a state park bathroom & showers, possibly a fire pit and a picnic table. 2 cars (strictly), 2 tents (give or take 1 tent) and up to 8 people can camp at these sites for the festival. My group has 4 people and 2 tents and 1 vehicle. It'll equate to $35 a head for the cost, but with more people, it will be even less per head. |

I might end up coming out with anywhere between 4 and 12 people. It's really up in the air, but I know four of us are down. Whatever you can do, whatever plans work out. Whatever could happen would be off the hook as we're all about saving some money. Shower access is great as well. Would be such a pleasure to camp with some fellow vibers. I can bring the viber shirts as well. =D =D
Can't wait!!~~ |

Hey, PA!
Send me an email. Click on the email tab below my post. I ended up getting 2 upgraded sites, but in different campground areas. Let's hammer out some specifics on camping through emails.
Cool?!

Hey friends going to Wakarusa!
I ended up with 2 camping upgrades and I'm wanting to get rid of one. It's in campground 3. The site can hold 8 people, 2 cars and 2 tents. It breaks down to like $20 / person if you have 8 at the site. Here's a link for more info:http://forum.wakarusa.com/viewtopic.php?t=7239
It's worth it if you:
-want a groomed campsite
-want a pinic table and fire ring (shot in the dark, it might have it, it might not)
-don't want to be burried in the field camping
-want to have access to free showers
-want to have access to a regular bathroom not a crap-o-let
-know you'll travel into town several times for goods
-want to find your campsite really easily when it needs to be easy
-want to arrive early: 4PM on Wednesday for all the pre-parties!
Contact me quick. PM me, email me or leave something in this thread.
I'd rather sell it to a fellow fan, before another Wakarusan. It's a chance to make your Waka experiance a little more enjoyable! |

damn i wish i was going to this...its worth it for the Lotus sets alone! if any of ya are deterred at all by the internet gossip about last years festival, i would just like to say that it was blown WAY out of proportion. just be smart about what you do and where you do it. personally i'd rather see the chillness that was last year's fest than the crime-ridden anarchy that Berkfest became [i.e. getting stuff stolen out of your tent while you sit by a fire right next to it]
such a beautiful landscape and there's a *shuttle* going to and from the camping area to the music area! only thing that allowed me to dance until 6 or 7am in '06
2 cents. |

I don't have an exact setlist, the whole weekend was kind of a blur.. but until Jesse or someone hooks it up here's what I can remember (in no particular order):
Day Set- Spiritualize opener, Alkaline, Bubonic Tonic, Flower Sermon (i think) Shimmer and Out, Intro To A Cell closer
Late Night- Jump Off (w/Zelda jam) opener, It's All Clear, Slow Cookin, Kesey Seed, Nematode, Livingston Storm, One Last Hurrah, Umbilical Moonset, Hammerstrike, Greet The Mind closer
the memory is really hurtin right now but that gives you an idea. Both great shows, late night was a straight up dance party with tons of room to boogie b/c of a rain storm before/during their set. Got to say "what's up" to Mike again @ the MMW show. what a nice guy came over to say hi after i hollered from a distance. Lotus= still reigning kings of late night. Bassnectar's tent aint got shit on Greet The Mind. |

Yea...what a blur. I danced more than I ever had in my entire life. What great music. Precise setlist will be up soon, I'm sure. I partied alot and danced TOO much and lived in a constant state of WOW. I got to meet a handful of more Lotus fans and got to do a little chillin' with Shorty.
Day set wise...I'm sure there was no Flower Sermon. Shimmer And Out was sandwiched with Around the World. Mikesnack was played in the above mentioned Flower Sermon spot.
Late night wise...I beleive the only adjustment was that U. Moonset was sandwiched inbetween GTM. The set had EXTREMELY exprimental jams and ended abruptly at 4AM.
Both sets were well played. Seemed Luke battled the Vocorder a bit in Around the world. Some of the jamming in the late night set had the band members tugging on each other to take the jams this direction or that. There were a few times when for a few measures it seemed like each of them went off into a totally different direction that the rest of the band; power cords and trance music...someone playing quiet and another trying to bring down the house. This play with the members made for awesome jamming when they all collided.
Got to talk to everone a bit except Jesse and Scott. As always what a great experiance. It was cool to see the guys at other shows over the weekend and see 'em milling about.
Bottom line, awesome! |
